WARNING: Before you waste the next 5 minutes of your life reading this blog that you will never get back, you should know that what you are about to read is not my best work. Quite honestly I hate non-conclusive science or visual science, I put it right up there with Olympic judging, I watch the Olympics every four years and still could not tell why a skater won or loss or why a gymnastics winner pointed her toe straighter than another girl which gave her the gold. I always end up feeling bad, thinking to myself maybe the other girls toe just doesn't point because of a genetic reason. Anyways here I go...
No, we do not pump oxygen gas into your bath. The simple explanation for what an oxygen bath is the reduction in the size of the water bubble. Water molecules are made up of the elements H2O which we should all remember from science class, unless you hated science class when you were a kid. The idea behind an Oxygen Bath was to condense the bubble allowing it to penetrate the pores of the skin and essentially cleaning out your pores with the "O" part of the H2O. The technology was first pioneered and labeled "microsilk" because of the appearance of the water and the science behind the oxygen bath is mainly visual which I hate because science should be conclusive not visual.
Infusion™ MicroBubble Therapy uses a U.S. patented liquid thin film device to saturate the water with up to 50% more dissolved oxygen than regular water alone. These MicroBubbles clean out all of the dirt and waste products in your skin. There are no cleansing chemicals or soaps involved so it is a safe and soothing experience.
This process is supposed to moisturize your skin making it feel silky and smooth right out of the bath. The stimulation of the epidermal layer of your skin can also promote restfulness and the release of muscle tension. NuWhirl, a sponsored third-party laboratory conducted an experiment on the effects of MicroBubble Therapy. Test results showed that 100% of test participants had improved hydration and moisture content in the upper layer of skin just after 10 minutes of MicroBubble Therapy. That is a 14.24% increase over untreated skin. Also 79% of test participants had an average of 10% improvement of softness in their skin.
“The effects of MicroBubble Therapy will stay with you even when the experience is over.”
Unlike normal baths that cool down the longer you’re in them, the MicroBubble Therapy increases the temperature of the bath every hour by approximately 1° F. The warming effects help to keep your body relaxed and the effects stay with you even after you leave the bathtub. You will no longer have to keep adding warm water to keep the temperature just right.
MicroBubble Therapy reduces the need for soap in a bath too. These small, oxygen rich bubbles go a long way in sterilizing your bath. Studies have shown that running a MicroBubble Bath for 10 minutes will kill all the Legionella and Aeruginosa bacteria in it. MicroBubbles will also grab other impurities off of your skin such as dead skin cells and lift it from the water.
In a scientific study done by Matsushita Electric Works, Ltd., MicroBubble bathing had demonstrated that it is suitable for psychological and Physiological conditioning before going to bed and is a safe bathing method when compared to normal bathing. This is because one remains warm longer based on measurements of skin surface temperature, electroencephalogram(a record of brain activity), electrocardiogram(a record of a person’s heartbeat), and subjective evaluations. MicroBubble bathing has been known to give people the impression that they remain warmer longer after bathing and that they are able to relax more than with normal bathing. Additionally, the study results suggest that compared to conventional bathing, MicroBubble bathing containing oxygen is more effective for refreshing and relaxing for a smooth transition to sleep as well as being soothing to dry skin
DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME
Unscientifically, I did my own clinical trial with the oxygen bath. After working in the yard one sunny Saturday afternoon I caught poison ivy which in my body spreads everywhere from one little tiny spot. By Monday morning the poison ivy was all over my hands and legs, which how it got on my legs I am still trying to figure out. Anyways i headed to the club and turned on the oxygen bath and as soon as the hot water hit the poison ivy my hands began to itch like crazy. I remember thinking right before I began my experiment, this should work or it may go horribly wrong. I felt a little like Thomas Edison, expect Edison was never going to be covered in and itchy rash over whole body when he was wrong and getting steroid shots.
When the bath filled up to reach the level of the jets I turned on the mircobubble jets and began scratching open all of the poison ivy. It started feeling worse and I began to get concerned that maybe this wasn't such a get idea. After about ten minutes the itching started to go away. About 30 minutes into the bath I started to feel normal, until it dawned on me that maybe the microbubble pump was now condensing the poison ivy smaller than the human pore and placing one in every pore in my body. I remember thinking that I have come this far so i might as well finish the session.
The next morning when i work up i was no longer itchy, which was a good sign. When i looked in between my fingers where the poison ivy was the worst the skin appeared normal, "i know visual science" but that's all i had to work with.
Over the next 2 days all of the poison ivy was gone, which is usually a two week process to get rid of for me. YES, the tub was sterilized after my experiment just for safety.
Club Recharge doesn't make claims that the oxygen bath will clear up poison ivy, but we will stand behind the power of the oxygen in the microbubble and the effects it has on the pores of your skin.
